Problem Overview
A leading thermal power plant operator in MENA region wanted to change fuel firing. From HFO based to Gas firing. They wanted to know impact on efficiency
Scope
– Review of engineering design drawings and datasheet
– Develop thermal performance model for boiler and turbine cycle based on “current” operating condition
– Predict temperatures at various section of boiler
– Calculate cycle efficiency and provide modification to improve efficiency
Outcome
– Based on PNES recommendation, client made the decisions on how to tackle such design change to ensure performance adn equipment life.
